　　1、老人和老貓

　　The Old Man and the Old Cat

　　老人和老貓

　　An old man has a cat. The cat is very old, too. He runs very quickly. And his teeth are bad. One evening, the old cat sees a little mouse. He catches it, but he cant eat it because his teeth are not strong enough. The mouse runs away.

　　一個年邁的老人養(yǎng)一只貓。這只貓也非常老了。她跑得很快，但是牙齒很糟糕。一天王還是那個，這只老貓看見一只小老鼠。它抓住了小老鼠，但是它卻吃不了它，因為它的牙齒不夠鋒利了。這只小老鼠逃跑了。

　　The old man is very angry. He beats his cat. He says: You are a fool cat. I will punish you! the cat is very sad. He thinks：When I was young, I worked hard for you. Now you dont like me because Im too old to work. You should know you are old, too.

　　老人很生氣，他打了小貓，并且對它說：你這只蠢貓!我要懲罰你!貓非常傷心，它想：在我還年輕的時候，我為你努力工作�，F(xiàn)在你卻因為我太老了不能工作而不喜歡我。你應(yīng)該知道你也老了。

　　2、一個窮人

　　Looking very unhappy, a poor man entered a doctors consulting-room.

　　一個看起來很難受的'窮人走進大夫的診室。

　　Doctor, he said, you must help me. I swallowed a penny about a month ago.

　　大夫!他說，幫幫我!一個月前我吞了一分硬幣!

　　Good heavens, man! said the doctor. Why have you waited so long Why dont you come to me on the day you swallowed it

　　天哪，大夫說，早干嘛去了你當(dāng)時怎么不來看

　　To tell you the truth, Doctor, the poor man replied, I didnt need the money so badly then.

　　實話告訴您吧，大夫，窮人說，我當(dāng)時還不缺錢!

　　3、大本鐘

　　Big Ben

　　Big Ben is not the name of a man. It is a name of the clock. It is in London. London is the capital city of England.

　　大本鐘不是一個人的名字，它是鐘的名字，它在倫敦。倫敦是英國的首都。

　　The big clock has four faces. So no matter where you stand, you can see the face of the clock. The hands are about four meters long.

　　大本鐘有四個面，因此無論站在什么方面，你都能見到鐘面。大本鐘的指南針大約4米長。

　　If you go to London, you may want to visit the house of the Parliament. In that place you will find Big Ben sits at the top of the clock tower in the House of the Parliament. The big clock makes a very loud noise. Ding dong. Ding dong- the clock strikes every quarter of an hour.

　　如果你去倫敦，你可能想要參觀以后大廈。在那個地方你會找到坐落在英國議會大廈鐘樓的大本鐘。大本鐘的聲音很大，叮咚，叮咚，每15分鐘敲一次。

　　Fred was going to school. When he passed a park, he saw a man sawing a big branch from a tree.

　　Hi, it is dangerous. Fred shouted. After you cut off the branch, you will fall, too. But the man didnt believe him, and said angrily, Go away, you little thing. Its none of your business.

　　嗨，你這么做很危險的。弗雷德喊道：你鋸了那樹枝后，你會摔下來的。而那個人不相信他，憤怒地說：快走開，小東西，沒有你的事。

　　Fred could do nothing, so he left. He didnt go far before he heard something crashed. He rushed back and found the man lying on the ground.

　　費雷德沒趣地離開了。他沒有走多遠就聽見一聲響，他急忙跑回去，發(fā)現(xiàn)那個人躺在地上。

　　Fred asked some men for help. They carried the man to the hospital.

　　弗雷德找了人幫忙。他們把這個男人送到了醫(yī)院。
